In 2011, Coutume Café opened in the centre of Paris – a distinctive space where you can enjoy a coffee along with a select range of fresh, organic food.
The 90 square metres that house Coutume Café were designed by CUT Architectures in collaboration with the architects Benjamin Clarens and Yann Martin. The café’s interior recalls a typical Parisian setting, with high ceilings, columns and an old shop-window door adorning one interior wall, combined with a new timber floor and simple, modern oak tables and chairs.

The look of the space evokes a “laboratory environment”. The white square tiles, the aluminium surfaces, the industrial plastic curtains and the choice of light fittings all contribute to this.
Even the glassware has been carefully chosen to reinforce this impression.

The simple oak tables were designed specially for Coutume Café as a blend of the Parisian interior and the laboratory look.

The space is warm and welcoming, and invites you to “experiment” by pairing your coffee with one of the fresh, organic dishes that peek out from the refrigerated display case.

The Coutume Café website is available here (although it is temporarily under construction)!
