This page explains what data FLASHLIGHT (flashlight.gr) collects when you visit, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible for your data
FLASHLIGHT is operated by INTRIGUE I.K.E., Perraivou 8, 16344 Ilioupoli, Greece. For anything regarding your personal data, write to us at info@flashlight.gr or through our contact page.
What data we collect and why
Contact form
When you send us a message, we receive your name, email, phone number (if you provide it) and your message. We use them only to reply to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us and, where a collaboration is concerned, steps taken before entering into a contract. Messages are kept in our mailbox for as long as the conversation requires and for no more than 2 years.
Newsletter
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we keep your name, email, the profession you select, the site language and the date of your consent. We use them to send you the newsletter and content relevant to you. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us. Your details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Technical data and security
To protect our forms from spam, your IP address is used temporarily, in encrypted form, for up to 10 minutes. Our hosting provider also keeps technical logs (e.g. IP address, time of visit, browser) for security and proper operation, for a limited period.
Ad measurement
We count how many times each ad on the site is shown and clicked. These figures are aggregated and anonymous: they use no cookies and are not linked to you.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:
- Essential: so the site remembers the language you chose and your cookie preferences. These do not require consent.
- Analytics (Google Analytics): to understand how many people read us and which stories interest them. They are activated only with your consent. Without it, Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals.
- Advertising (Google AdSense): to show ads, which allow FLASHLIGHT to remain free. With your consent, ads may be personalised. Without it, only non-personalised or limited ads are shown.
- Embedded videos (YouTube, Vimeo): YouTube videos load in privacy-enhanced (no-cookie) mode and the player is activated only when you press play. Vimeo videos load with the “do not track” option.
On your first visit you see a message where you can accept, reject or choose which cookies you allow. You can change your choices at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only with partners who help us run the site, who process it on our behalf or as independent controllers for their own services:
- our website and email hosting provider,
- Google Ireland Ltd (Google Analytics, Google AdSense and the consent message),
- the newsletter sending service, once one is used.
Some of these partners, such as Google, may transfer data outside the European Union, with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR (e.g. the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses). Your rights
You have the right to request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, to object to processing and to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what happened before. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at info@flashlight.gr. We will reply within one month.
If you believe that the processing of your data breaches the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
Security
The site runs exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only people who need it to run FLASHLIGHT have access to data.
Minors
FLASHLIGHT is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 15, for example newsletter sign-ups.
Changes
If the way we process data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
