EMOTIONAL DESIGN FOR DRESSING FLORENCE.
From 24 to 29 May 2011, Florence hosts the second “Florence Design Week, Design Village 2011”, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and organised in collaboration with the London Design Festival and the City of Florence.
The passion for design and art that will bring visitors to Florence Design Week will give them the chance to discover the five senses on an emotional journey in which design becomes one with the historic beauty of Florence.
The festival takes place in the squares, art galleries, libraries and historic houses that adorn the city, where work by new generations of designers and companies will be presented. Visitors will also be able to taste the flavours that design has to offer and enjoy the scents of spring at their peak.
It is a celebration of graphic and visual design, industrial design, fashion design, interior design, music and food design.
Exhibitions, workshops, meetings, design aperitifs and innovative nightlife options will be organised throughout the festival to bring designers and visitors together and to bridge past and future.
Experiencing Florence Design Week first-hand is a chance to see the unique city of Florence through a new, contemporary design lens.
