For those who don’t know it, Etsy is an online community of artists and craftspeople from all over the world. It is a website where the handmade, the unique, the original and the inspired take pride of place. Its purpose is to bring together people who make wonderful handmade things and the people who want to buy them.
Etsy is the ideal destination for anyone who is tired of factory-made, mass-produced objects and is looking for something special, made by hand by people who put their passion, imagination and personal expression into it.
The “Etsy Greek Street Team” is made up of members of Etsy’s Greek team (EGST), who either live in Greece or are of Greek descent and live abroad. Each of them started out alone, but they later got to know one another, exchanged knowledge, ideas and experiences, supported one another and became friends.
All of them share the same passion for handmade creation, although they use different media to express it. Their aim is to promote the members’ shops and to share knowledge and experience.
They paint, weave, solder metal, string beads, knit, cut paper and fabric, and sew. They use their hands and their imagination, a variety of materials and traditional techniques in a fresh way.
