A design "workshop" in Thessaloniki on 26 & 27 February.

After two successful editions in Athens (2009 and 2010) and a thoroughly successful first themed appearance at the 42nd Xenia, Design Lab, the contemporary show for design (architectural, interior and industrial), is extending its “operations” to northern Greece!

The aim of this strategic decision is to give architects, decorators and manufacturers in northern Greece (as well as end users and professionals) the chance to get acquainted with the latest trends in the key components of design (materials, furniture and design objects, architectural design), and also to build new business relationships and contacts with companies that supply innovative products in these fields.

It is an entirely pioneering initiative by Greek standards, which aims to present design in all of its creative “phases”: from the material (a source of inspiration or a tool in the designer’s hands) to the idea, the design and the final product of the creative process.

Design Lab@Thessaloniki is a step of crucial importance towards further developing a creative dialogue between designers, materials and their end recipients. It is one more effort to bring ever larger parts of the design sector, and of the supply market, into that dialogue. The organisers’ ambition, therefore, is to make room for as many as possible of the companies producing materials, furniture and design objects that wish to expand or underline their business presence in northern Greece (and the Balkans).
