Design Lab, the Contemporary Workshop of Applied Creativity, returns to Technopolis, City of Athens for the third year running, on 25, 26 and 27 May. Constantly evolving, it is expanding to house, each in its own clearly distinct space, every facet of contemporary design: architectural, interior, industrial, graphic, product & fashion design.
Now established as the biggest design festival in Greece, Design Lab Athens 2013 features two parallel series of events:
1. Design Lab – The Main Event: The exhibition section of Design Lab Athens 2013 presents innovative architectural and decorative materials, high-level design services, and furniture and objects of high aesthetic quality and functionality. Professionals in the field (architects, designers, manufacturers), professionals from a range of business sectors (hotels, food service, retail and so on), and all lovers of contemporary design are once again invited to the annual celebration of design and architecture.
2. Design Lab – The Parallel Events: The parallel events of Design Lab Athens 2013 are the event’s direct response to its central theme, the day after tomorrow of Greek design. Under the general title “Meet the designers behind the products”, Design Lab seeks to highlight the obvious: that the role and position of the designer in Greece’s future can and must be pivotal.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
Let’s Talk About Industrial Design: a round table for the exchange of views between designers, manufacturers/producers and marketing representatives. The round table aims to create a forum for creative dialogue, to identify and seek solutions to problems and entrenched obstacles that may be holding things back and, ultimately, to set the conditions for the commercial success of the collaboration between the parties involved.
ARCHITECTURE
Passive Building – Reducing energy consumption in buildings by 90%.
Building Information Modeling – A complete building design platform for cutting costs, reducing construction errors and improving bioclimatic performance.
