From 12 to 14 May 2012, the Technopolis of the City of Athens welcomes and hosts, for the second year running, the pioneering workshop of applied creativity Design Lab.
Now firmly established among architecture and interior design professionals as the fastest-rising event on contemporary design, Design Lab Athens 2012 aims once again to be a landmark and meeting point for architects, decorators and interior designers, as well as for anyone who loves contemporary design, innovation and new ideas.
Materials, services, furniture and design objects will be presented over the three days of Design Lab Athens, giving professionals and private individuals alike the chance to get to know the latest trends and developments in the field.
Design Lab already has a very substantial portfolio of visitors (architects, decorators, designers, design offices, engineering firms, building contractors), who strengthen the event with their presence every year, and it now also addresses the private individual, inviting them to a celebration of contemporary design.
With the parallel activities organised in the outdoor areas of Technopolis, Design Lab breaks out of the narrow confines of a trade show and becomes a workshop of art, design, creativity, positive energy and optimism. This year, the courtyard of Technopolis will host the open-air art exhibition Renew it, whose central theme is the reuse of old materials to create new objects and furniture.
In collaboration with decorating teams and materials companies, the courtyard of Technopolis will be transformed into a modern “park” of design and creation. There will also be a Contemporary Greek Design “park”, in which young Greek architects, decorators, artists and creators will present works, constructions and installations, proving in practice that Greek design is alive, active and creative.
As part of the same programme, the “Nikos Gatsos” hall (D12) will host the special exhibition of Greek industrial design 100% Greek Design, as well as the exhibition Panorama of Greek Architecture 2012 by DOMES magazine.
Design Lab Athens 2012 is organised by Demand Customize Marketing, while the strategic communication design is handled by morantis experience creators.
