Good lighting provides safety and a better quality of life. It depends on many parameters, such as appropriate intensity and correct colour rendering, achieved with the smallest possible number of sources in order to save energy.
In this context, the CIE (International Commission on Illumination) is holding its annual conference from 14 to 17 March 2010 in Austria, at the Hilton Vienna.
The conference, titled CIE 2010 “Lighting Quality & Energy Efficiency”, aims to become a forum that showcases the latest developments and results in these two fields.
At the same time, the conference aims to bring as many stakeholders as possible into the forum, so that they can contribute to the effort to improve lighting quality and reduce energy consumption worldwide.
CIE 2010 will highlight the following topics:
* Research on experimental designs
* Lighting techniques & scenarios
* Integrated approaches to luminaire design
* Criteria for quality lighting
* Possible future lighting systems
* Methods for comparing lighting installations
* Studies on the energy efficiency of lighting
* Energy efficiency and environmental compatibility
