Fumio Hirakawa and Marina Topunova of 24o Studio were commissioned to create an installation, which was presented at the Santorini Biennale of Arts in the village of Pyrgos from July to September 2012. With this project they won the 1st Gold Award in the Arts, Crafts and Ready Design category for 2012-2013.

The installation is made entirely of paper, combined with LED lamps, and was placed in the tunnel that every visitor had to pass through to reach the Kasteli settlement at the top of the village.

Its original design is part of a broader study into the potential of paper as an architectural material that can change the look of a space. So, instead of removing the old surface of the tunnel, the designers kept it as it was and simply added a new structure. This did not cover the old surface completely; instead, through the use of a repeating pattern, it highlighted the coexistence of old and new.

During the Biennale, the changing conditions of the environment (wind, light, humidity, human interaction, etc.) played an important role in the appearance of the installation, which took on a more weathered look.
