Mikkeller Bar in Copenhagen

A flawless blend of classic and contemporary design in a Danish brewery.

Mikkeller Bar in Copenhagen

It is often hard to strike the right balance between a style that feels familiar yet hip, relaxed and rebellious, but not overloaded. That is exactly what makes the Mikkeller Bar in Copenhagen so distinctive, innovative and interesting: the right mix of all these ingredients.

Designed by the Danish studio Femmes Regionales, the bar of the pioneering microbrewery Mikkeller combines modernism with the traditional look of Danish pubs.

Furniture and fittings in which the feel of natural wood predominates, a selective use of colour, and interesting light fittings hanging from golden taps make up this unique space.

The walls are mostly white, with black used selectively in the bar area, while scattered brick walls blend seamlessly into the colour balance of the vertical surfaces. The pictures chosen are simple and discreet, like the décor as a whole.

The “shelves” that adorn certain parts of the space are particularly interesting, with their colourful drawers set at irregular positions on the walls.

Even the small decorative accessories, such as vases and candlesticks, have their own “character” despite their simplicity.
