Hotel the Exchange

A hotel in Amsterdam where architecture meets fashion!

Hotel the Exchange

Hotel the Exchange in Amsterdam is quite literally “dressed” in style, following the very latest in fashion.

The hotel occupies three historic buildings, one of which dates back to the 17th century. What makes it special is that all 61 rooms were designed by students and graduates of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute.

You can choose to stay in rooms ranging from one to five stars, each one very different from the next and a complete expression of the young designers’ inspiration.

If you are a romantic at heart, choose the room inspired by Marie Antoinette, where the curtains form an enormous dress that begins at the wall and ends beside the bed.

If you prefer a more minimal look, pick the room based on the old fairy tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes”.

Hotel the Exchange is another concept from Suzanne Oxenaar and Otto Nan, the minds behind the Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy. The hotel is also part of “The Red Carpet”, an urban renewal project that aims to give the area a different, more modern look.

Rates at Hotel the Exchange are around €75 a night.
