The architects and decorators of DMD Group were commissioned to convert the old Berwyn watermill, built in the 19th century in North Wales, into a home for people who want to be truly close to nature. It is intended to offer moments of relaxation and calm, far from the frantic pace of the city.

The project focuses on the exterior appearance of the building. The lush forest in which the mill sits, together with the tributary of the River Dee that flows almost beneath the house, creates an idyllic landscape. The architects wanted to preserve and showcase this natural beauty, so they made no major interventions to the building.

The two main materials used are stone and wood. Inside, the walls are painted white to give a more rustic result, with loose, relaxed lines and no unnecessary decorative elements.
