As part of a project to restore a historic building in the centre of Porto and convert it into housing for students and young people, the small garden in the building’s back yard has been designed to create a different sense of greenery, even though no trees or plants have been planted.
Paving slabs and lawn alternate in triangular patterns, creating an alternative feeling of greenery. The idea is of interest for small gardens that are used as a thoroughfare, since it spares the lawn from being “worn out”.
