5+1 Ideas for Decorating Your Balcony with Plants

Now that summer has arrived, it is the right time to turn our attention to the outdoor spaces of our home.

Since most of us live in the city and can’t have the garden we would like for spending our free time, let’s look at what we can do to bring the garden to our balconies.

Simple objects can be given a new purpose and deliver a pleasing result.

1. The familiar and ever-useful pallet can be turned into a vertical garden for our plants, one that saves space because it takes up a relatively small area.

2. A fabric shoe organizer can just as easily become a vertical garden, with its pockets taking the place of plant pots.

3. Jars from jam, mayonnaise, honey and so on can be set on a wooden board fixed to the wall, and used to plant our herbs.

4. Large mugs and teapots are another good choice for decorating the balcony table with plants.

5. Wooden wine crates also give the balcony and our plants a more distinctive look.

And here is one more idea, a different way of using plant pots: stack them one on top of another to give them height.
