The new look for the Topman menswear stores is part of the chain’s wider effort to reinvent its image as a hip fashion brand on the British market.
The first concept store opened in east London. The interior was overseen by the brand’s design director, Gordon Richardson, and by Matthew Murphy, creative director of the Saville Row store.

The store is decorated in the “Americana” style of the early 20th century. The key element in achieving this look is the walls, which are clad in stone. The effect is completed by vintage paintings, tables made from old sewing machines, wooden shelves, display cabinets and clothes racks.
The clothing collections are showcased amid limited-edition art prints, books and occasional installations and projections placed at various points around the stores, as well as the atmospheric lighting of the space.
