Mon Petit in Andorra

A second-hand children's store with a distinctive philosophy, designed by the architects Miquel Merce Architect and MSB Workshop.

Mon Petit in Andorra

Mon Petit in Andorra brings together second-hand children’s goods, toys, clothes and accessories, promoting the idea of recycling and reusing products.

At a time when economic crisis, ecology and saving are part of our everyday lives, Mon Petit is more than just a shop. It is a philosophy and an attitude to life.

The architects Miquel Merce Architect and MSB Workshop sought to capture this philosophy in the interior design of the space.

They met the brief by creating an installation within the space that reads more as a sculptural, functional object than as a display unit.

The installation is made up of thin vertical strips of raw black iron that can be reused, while its simple, restrained design emphasises the “character of the space”.

The repeated black vertical elements give the impression of a light, floating structure, lending the space rhythm and intensity.

The dark colour of their surface acts as a fitting backdrop for the colourful children’s goods and toys, while their diagonal placement gives a sense of movement and a constantly shifting perspective within the space.

Mon Petit draws the attention of passers-by and invites them into an environment that combines elegance and good taste with topical issues such as recycling and saving.
