Industrial & Rustic Style in a Dublin Home

The home of young Irish designer Vanessa Mac Innes shows how recycled materials and objects in industrial and rustic styles can be combined harmoniously in the same space.

Industrial & Rustic Style in a Dublin Home

Vanessa Mac Innes‘s renovated apartment in Dublin could serve as the very definition of “industrial chic”.

A series of functional pieces of furniture, restored and modified, are the key ingredient in achieving this distinctive result. The pieces have been chosen with care, and the space is quite sparsely furnished.

The dominant element in the living room is a Danish tan leather sofa in a 1960s style.

Throughout the space you will also find small touches that enliven its personality and bring out its distinctive style: from the wooden box behind the sofa to the decorative objects on the windowsill.

In the bedroom, the industrial look is retained, but in a more subdued form. To keep the room from feeling cold, colourful accessories have been used, such as the yellow cushions and the checked cover, which nonetheless tie in with the industrial-style table lamps.
