Three wooden poles, a few metal hooks and a few metres of leather cord become a beautiful coat stand, thanks to the imagination and practical spirit of Annaleena from Sweden.
Fortunately, emmas.blogg.se helped us by translating Annaleena‘s instructions into English, as our Swedish is rather inadequate!
Before you start, make sure you have the following:
• 3 wooden poles, each 1.80 metres tall
• 10 screws
• Leather strip
• Screwdriver
• Saw
• And as many hooks as you like!

Step 1:
To begin, use the saw to cut the ends of the poles at an angle that will let the stand sit firmly on the floor once assembled.
Step 2:
Next, bring the three poles together so that they meet about 40 centimetres from the top, and screw them together with a screwdriver. You will probably need a helper for this step! Bear in mind that, with the angle you have given the poles, the point where they meet should be about 50 centimetres above the floor.
Step 3:
Once the poles are assembled, wrap the decorative leather strip around the point where you have placed the screws, to cover them.
Step 4:
Screw the hooks in wherever you like, so you can hang your accessories (bags, etc.).
You’re done! The steps are simple enough even for someone with no DIY experience.
What is even more interesting is that, starting from this idea, you can improvise by painting the poles or using alternative materials to decorate the stand (e.g. instead of leather strip, you could use twine, flexible wire, ribbons, etc.).
