For those who love knitting, and for those who don’t, we’ve found a lovely idea that is easy and inexpensive to put together, and that will give one of your walls an interesting look and a personal touch.
The beauty of this project lies in its simplicity, and in the authentic charm of the raw material you will use to make it: knitting wool.
You can use it on its own to decorate your wall, or take it as an idea for presenting a knitting-themed collection. By choosing one or more bright colors of wool, you could even create a colorful decor for your wall!
As for materials? If you’re a knitting fan, you can simply look through the balls of wool you already have and pick your favorite colors. If you don’t knit but like the idea, just visit a knitting supplies shop.
What else you will need besides the knitting wool:
• A picture frame (old or new)
• Cardboard
• Fabric to line the inside of the frame
• Thread, ideally in the same color as the wool
• Knitting needles (optional), ideally bamboo

Instructions:
1. Cut a round piece of cardboard to the size you want, depending on the dimensions of your frame.
2. Make a few notches around the edge of the cardboard to make it easier to wind the wool around it, then start winding it round and round in whatever pattern you like. All that matters is that the end result looks like a flattened ball of knitting wool. When you finish, tuck the end of the wool into the inside of the ball.
3. Cut a piece of fabric to suit the size of the frame, ideally a little larger than the back of the frame so that you can fasten and stretch it more easily. You may also need a little glue.
4. Using a sewing needle, stitch the four edges of the woolen ball onto the fabric at the spot you want. A few stitches are enough to get the result you’re after.
5. Frame the piece (without the glass).
6. If you like, place your pair of wooden needles diagonally across it!
7. Hang it on the wall, and you’re done!
