Decorating with Old Suitcases

Old suitcases are turned into vintage decorative pieces for every room.

Decorating with Old Suitcases

Old suitcases have a certain charm. The sight of them puts us in a nostalgic mood and “transports” us back in time.

It is no coincidence, then, that they are increasingly chosen to give home décor a distinctive vintage look. What’s more, beyond their aesthetic contribution, in many cases they also offer storage solutions.

Stacked one on top of the other, they can serve:

As “alternative bedside tables”

As side tables or coffee tables

As décor (and storage) in corridors and entrance halls

As a base for small pieces of furniture

Alternatively, instead of using several suitcases together, you can simply attach little legs or wheels to a single one and create a distinctive small piece of furniture!

And even if you are unfortunately not among the lucky ones who have an old suitcase to hand, we have good news. As vintage suitcases establish themselves among decorators’ favorites, ready-made furniture inspired by their style is increasingly easy to find in the shops.

Finally, one original use for vintage suitcases is to turn them into beds for pets.

Tip: The inside of a vintage suitcase can be completely refurbished with new fabrics, pockets and dividers, so that you can make the best possible use of it as a storage space.

Perhaps it’s time to head down to the storeroom and dust off your old suitcases?
