Decorate Your Home with Fresh Flowers

Fresh flowers are a simple, inexpensive way to bring a fresh mood and energy into your home, shop or office.

After all, who can deny that nature is a “wise” decorator with unrivalled taste? So why not make use of it for our own purposes, in our own space?

As if by magic, flowers create an elegant, warm and pleasant atmosphere wherever they are placed. With an endless choice of colours and shapes, choosing flowers can become one more way to express your personality through the decoration of your space. And the way you place them in a room can bring out the personality of the space as a whole.

There are many ways to decorate with flowers. Let your imagination take on the role of decorator and experiment with arrangements and combinations that dare, why not, to break away from the traditional vase.

Here are a few tips on alternative ways to make your space “bloom”:

• The obvious… take your vases out of the cupboards, fill them with flowers and place them in the centre or at the end of your kitchen or dining table, on a side table in the living room, on your sideboard, on the chest of drawers in your bedroom, on your windowsill!

Move beyond traditional vases and use alternative containers: jars, bowls, painted bottles, old saucepans.

• Even tall glasses or mugs can be put to use to display a few flowers, especially if they are small or if you only want to keep the blooms. You can even place them on the shelves of a bookcase or on a small table as a charming decorative detail.

• Try not to limit yourself to one large vase or container of any kind. Instead, combine a collection of pieces that will serve the purpose, in different heights and sizes, and why not colours too, dividing your bunch among them. This is now one of the most popular trends in decorating with flowers. It is worth playing with coloured glasses and bottles.

Tip! Don’t rush to throw out your bunch when the flowers start to wilt! Think of new combinations, e.g. cut off the flowers that are still fresh and place them in one or more small glasses or bottles!
