How many times have you found yourself staring at the ceiling, mulling over something that worries you or counting sheep to fall asleep?
Wouldn’t it be more interesting to gaze at a vivid, colored surface instead of facing a white one?
Of course, that is not the reason why color is no longer confined to walls and has now moved up to the ceilings of apartments as well.
In general, the eye needs boundaries in order to perceive the extent of a surface or a space. This is another advantage of colored ceilings. You may understand it even better if you take a second look at the image above and then immediately look at the space without the blue ceiling:
Beyond that, color on the ceiling is a finishing touch that can significantly change the feel of a space, even if the walls stay more “neutral”. Color can be cleverly tied in with various accessories, creating interesting interplays with rugs, cushions and paintings.
With color on the ceiling, you can experiment in every room, from the kitchen, living room and dining room to the bathroom.
