The five villas that make up the Casas del Sol residential complex on the island of Koh Tao in Thailand make real what for most people is only a dream: an enchanting setting completed by views of the ocean, the sunset, palm trees and the lazy murmur of the waves.
Australian designer Christina Saenz de Santmaria, inspired by Thailand’s tropical climate, used objects from Thai folk art to decorate the interiors.

The design is based on clean, simple lines that recall Spanish country houses, or fincas, and fills the air with a Mediterranean breeze.

A new approach to aesthetics is captured in the term boutique beach chic, which Christina uses to stress an understated luxury that works in complete harmony with the particular character of the natural surroundings.
