Refresh your home without spending a fortune, simply by adding colour to your surfaces and furniture!
When we add colour to our home, we add colour to our life too: a change in your space will surely change your mood as well.
On channel4.com, we found some ideas for how to refresh your space and create your own favourite corners at home!
You can combine earthy tones with strong colours such as orange, red, green or turquoise to create contrasts with a distinctive style.

To create a colour palette on your wall, combine wallpapers in different colours. It’s a bold but original idea!
Arrange the pieces vertically or horizontally, or even in squares, depending on the feel and style you want to achieve.
If you love strong contrasts, combine bold colours on your walls and furniture. It could produce a very striking result!
If you don’t want to paint large surfaces, paint the wall behind a focal point in the room (e.g. the bed).
The effect would be even stronger if you placed a bold decorative element on the same surface (e.g. a beautiful framed picture)!

Small spaces such as entrance halls usually limit our decorating options. Paint the wall in a soft colour and lay a brightly coloured rug on the floor to create an attractive contrast.
In long, narrow spaces such as a corridor, giving the far end a bold colour will not only make it look better but also make it seem wider. A mirror on the same surface would help too!
For spaces where we want to relax, such as our bedroom, it is best to use softer colours, such as lavender purple, combined with neutral shades such as beige.
You can add colour to a space without painting it!

We can use coloured fabrics and decorative accessories.
For example, we can refresh a plain bedroom with a rug, a duvet cover and even a bed canopy, all harmoniously coordinated.
Add colour to your furniture! Make a difference with an orange dining table and black chairs…
And if you are wary of big changes, a single item can make all the difference!
Add a stylish armchair, for example, which is sure to draw the eye!
Finally, let’s not forget the role curtains play in a space, since a beautiful curtain always catches the eye!
