When you think “out of the box”, only interesting ideas can come out of it!
That is just what Kristina Steinmetz of the blog “Ich Designer” (I, the Designer) did when she transformed a bed component from IKEA, the Sultan Luroy connected bed slats, into handy wall stands for vertical storage that can be used in a variety of spaces and for many purposes.
By hanging the Sultan Luroy slats from two mounting brackets, she uses the wooden battens as anchor points for hooks, hanging baskets, small plant pots and much more.
Let’s look at some of the ways you can use this idea!
In the bathroom
Hang towels, and use hooks to create a range of hanging storage for your bathroom essentials.

In the hall or entrance of your home
What could be better for hanging your bags or creating small storage spots for little items such as keys, mobile phones and mail, or your gloves, scarves and so on? You can even use it to keep your shoes tidy!

In your home office
Hang baskets to organise your desk area, or use the stand to keep your magazines in order!

In your kitchen
Don’t have enough rails for hanging your ladles or small kitchen accessories? Here is an alternative worth considering!

Tip!
Think about how you could give the whole project an even more personal touch, either by painting the wood or by using the decoupage technique.
