Wood may be a fairly “common” building material, but the way it is used in the apartment that the architecture firm Fixonic designed in the Braemar Hill area of Hong Kong is a source of inspiration.
The apartment is a characteristic example of the extensive use of wood as a decorative element. It dominates the floor, the walls, the furniture and the custom-built pieces that make up its minimal yet warm spaces.

The design, with its continuous use of wood in every room, links the spaces together harmoniously. The wooden parquet makes the rooms feel warm and welcoming. The furniture, the desk, the bedroom and the storage areas, also built from wood, create a uniformity that is restful to the eye.
The selective use of white on the walls helps to define the spaces and brings out the character of the wood-clad walls.
The ambient lighting in all the rooms is also of interest.
