Chiaki Murata, a designer at Tokyo-based Metaphys, has created two series of striking, modern planters: the Factory collection and the Picture Frame.
The philosophy behind the design of the Metaphys planters is to let us enjoy watching plants grow by bringing them into the spaces we live in, that is, inside our homes.
They are available in white and in a variety of shapes, and their clean lines allow them to blend into any interior, sharing their “green” energy!
The Factory Collection

Grass, which only grows to a limited height, is ideal for the Factory planters. It can be grown without soil in their shallow tray, giving the room a distinctive and attractive look as it grows.
Picture Planter

A more squared-off version, it creates the illusion of a “painting” with a living green subject. It is available in different shapes and sizes.
The designer imagines the ideal spot for the “Picture Planters” as beside a window, with the clouds becoming part of the scene captured by their frame. Alternatively, you can place one on a table or hang it on the wall.
