Colorado-based Ridekick promises to make getting around by bike fun, giving cyclists an extra push with its distinctive trailer.
Its mission is to offer an affordable, high-quality, enjoyable and “green” alternative for short journeys, without any dependence on fuel.
The electric trailer is designed to attach to almost any bicycle in 15 seconds, and the cyclist controls it with a throttle on the handlebar grips.
The 500-watt battery can “push” the bike at speeds of up to 30 kilometres per hour, helping cyclists where they need it most, such as on uphill stretches, over distances of 12.8 to 19 kilometres.
The Ridekick trailer also has extra storage space for shopping and bags, and it is waterproof.
For now, it is available only in the US and costs $699 (€532).
