Tree Lighting

The best approach for beautiful effects.

Tree Lighting

Do you want to create atmospheric lighting for the trees in your garden?
It is very simple, but out of ignorance, most of the time all we end up creating is light pollution rather than an attractive result.

For large trees, what you need to do is place the floodlight as close as possible to the base of the trunk and light upwards with a diffuse beam, so as to create an attractive play of shadows over the texture of the trunk and the foliage.

For smaller trees, we work in the same way, using a luminaire with fewer lumens and a narrower beam angle.

What is important is to aim the beam at the tree and not at the sky, so that we do not cause the light pollution mentioned above and do not waste energy. With better aiming, we may need fewer watts to achieve the required lux.
The ambient lighting also plays a major role: we must exceed it by a wide margin for our effect to work.
