The “Manila Rope” light is the result of a distinctive design by the Toronto-based design studio Atelier 688.
Its main material is traditional ship’s rope, a choice that creates a strong connection with nature. The style is vintage, while its simplicity gives it an utterly authentic and distinctive design that can dominate a space.
Each piece is handmade, so its uniqueness is beyond question. Each light is approximately 3.6 metres tall, but this can be adjusted by arrangement with the designer when ordering.
The ropes can be tied in many different ways, changing the look of the light and of the space.
It costs €248 (until 31/8/2011, after which it will be yours for €310) and is available from the Atelier 688 shop on Etsy.com.
