We discovered him through www.apartmentherapy.com, which raved about his presence at Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2011, where he showed a series of functional, timeless lighting pieces that resemble sculptures.

We are talking about Michael Anastassiades, the Greek designer based in London, who for many years designed and produced a very limited number of objects, aiming for the quality of handmade creations that small-scale production allows.
In 2007 he founded a company so that he could make his objects more widely available.
He travelled around the world and sought out small, family-run workshops to step up production of his designs. The workshops were chosen for their outstanding craftsmanship and their traditional use of materials.
The company’s first collection came after two years of intensive preparation. It combines delicate details with an authentic approach to materials, which enhances the refined simplicity of the designs.

All the products are handmade, yet available in unlimited editions. Each piece, bearing the designer’s stamp, is made to the same quality as the original version.
Michael Anastassiades’s philosophy is to produce beautifully designed products with lasting value.
