It looks like wood, but you can see through it. It isn’t glass, but you can see through it, even if only dimly. So what is it?
The Japanese studio nendo offers a different idea for our dining room.
What is it made of? It is an acrylic material that reproduces the texture and grain of wood. nendo‘s design for the “transparent table” evokes a composition of planks, an effect emphasised by the irregular finish at the edges of the table. It is available in black and clear, with wooden bases.

The visual effects of the two models are interesting. From a distance, the black table looks like wood, but as you approach you can make out the transparency of the material.
The clear table, on the other hand, appears from a distance to be made of a transparent material, but up close it reveals its wood-like feel.
