Stack your old magazines, fasten the straps, sit down!
That is the motto behind the original stool from njstudio!
This clever object, called “Hockenheimer”, can store the old magazines you don’t want to throw away but don’t want taking up space on your bookshelves. At the same time, it works as an alternative seat with a personality of its own.
The base is handmade from birch wood in a workshop in Bavaria. Each cushion is also handmade, so that it is unique. Even the leather straps are made to order, and the buckles and rivets are handmade too.
The wooden base measures 415x305x70mm, and the stack of magazines that forms the stool measures 305x250x70mm.
njstudio is a design studio, an “ideas company” based in Coburg, Germany, founded in 2010 by Wolfgang Rößler and Kathrin Lang.
Their approach to design combines humour, professionalism and a willingness to seek unconventional solutions, all with an independent, simple style.
