The Pieces platform was founded in Sweden in 2011 by the design team TAF, with the aim of developing objects and small furniture for the home or office.
The name itself reflects the idea behind it: Gabriella Gustafson and Mattias Ståhlbom set out to create independent elements that can be combined into a puzzle of different small furniture pieces, always according to the user’s taste and needs.

The first Pieces series is called Trotters, and its aesthetic emphasis falls on the bases that support the structures. This part of a piece of furniture is usually hidden away and nobody pays it any attention. Here, however, the designers focused on the bases, giving them far more prominence than the other parts that make up the furniture.

By “playing” with the simple geometry and the materials of the Trotters collection, you can create a variety of effects in a space. The bases are made of wood, marble or white porcelain, and the silicone on the bases can be white or orange, while the tables and shelves are made of wood or glass. All the pieces use top-quality materials and are crafted with care, drawing on Swedish “craft tradition”.
