Eleftheria Karydi is a furniture designer who studied Furniture Design and Wood Technology at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Larissa and completed her studies in Brno, Czech Republic, where she crowned her time there with the collage exhibition “Multi Action”.
In 2011, Eleftheria took part in the 5th Furniture Competition of Dromeas S.A. with a coat stand called “FILOTUS”. The designer chose the name because the design consists of a series of petals or leaves that together form the shape of a plant.
Besides its main purpose of holding clothes, FILOTUS can also serve as storage: umbrellas can be kept at its base, and small items such as keys and coins in the spaces formed by its “leaves”.
As an additional feature, the FILOTUS coat stand can be fitted with LEDs along its body to create ambient lighting in the space where it is placed.
The leaves that make up the stand snap into one another, so you can buy exactly as many pieces as you need. It is made of polyester, a lightweight material, available in a wide range of colours and textures.

Eleftheria also entered the Athens Bench Mark competition with her bench “FLYLAND”.
“Flyland” is a bench-island with a stainless steel seat that rotates around its supporting base. Shade for those sitting is provided by umbrellas mounted on rubber cylinders.
The bench also has concealed lighting for… “relaxed flights”. Eleftheria’s inspiration was “to see benches fly one day”.

Eleftheria has also taken part in exhibitions at Syntagma Metro station (“Leaks”), at White Noise in Gazi (“Be Fare Be There”), at 8 Dytika (“BaZtales”) and at Filothei Grove (“The Young Create”)!
Today, her collage series “I love Fabric” can be seen at the “ZooPs” store in Marousi.
