We discovered him through www.apartmentherapy.com, which praised his presence at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2011 with a series of functional, timeless lighting pieces that resemble sculptures.
We are talking about Michael Anastassiades, the Greek designer based in London, who for many years worked on designing and producing a very limited number of objects, aiming for the quality of handmade pieces that small-scale production allows.
In 2007 he founded a company so that he could make his objects more widely available.
He travelled all over the world and sought out small, family-run workshops in order to step up the production of his designs. The workshops were chosen for their distinctive manufacturing skills and their traditional use of materials.
The company’s first collection came after two years of intensive preparation. It combines delicate details with an authentic approach to materials, which enhances the refined simplicity of the designs.

All the products are handmade, yet available in unlimited editions. Each piece, bearing the designer’s stamp, is made to match the quality of the original edition.
Michael Anastassiades’s philosophy is to produce beautifully designed products with timeless value.
