When there is a pet in our lives, its house, whether it sits on the veranda or in the garden, affects the look of our own space too. But design is not the only consideration. As Mr. Giorgos Kyriakou, who works in dog training, tells us, the material and the build quality play a very important part in making sure the animal lives comfortably inside it.

There are plenty of options, but they fall into two main categories. Wooden houses are the most popular choice, and also the most expensive; they stay cool in summer and warm in winter. Plastic houses, on the other hand, are more durable, since they are made of hard plastic, but it is harder to maintain a comfortable temperature inside them. They are, however, the more economical solution. Either way, it is important that the house has vents so that the interior is properly ventilated.
