The Italian company Alessi has unveiled MU, a new cutlery series designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito. The handles of the collection’s stainless steel pieces have a distinctive, hexagon-like shape, with smooth transitions between sharp and curved points.

Of his collection, Toyo says: “sharp, yet at the same time elegant and sensitive… linear, but with the organic quality of plants…
we intend to change our familiarity with chopsticks by using cutlery.”

The series includes forks, knives and spoons for every type of meal, from the main course to dessert and coffee, as well as serving utensils for salad or sweets.
