Cassina I Maestri Collection

A "reissue" of furniture by the great architect Le Corbusier.

Cassina I Maestri Collection

The leading Modernist architect Le Corbusier followed the same strict principles in designing both his architecture and his furniture.

Thanks to their austere, pared-back lines, his works remain timeless and entirely relevant to contemporary design trends.

The Italian company Cassina presents the Cassina I Maestri collection, which includes, among other pieces, a “reissue” of furniture by Le Corbusier from the 1960s.

More specifically, the pieces being “reissued” are the well-known Tabouret Cabanon stool (designed by the architect for his holiday home, the Cabanon, in France), the Table de Conference table, the Porte Manteaux coat stand and the Table de Travail avec Rayonnages desk system (originally designed for the children’s rooms of the Unite d’Habitation building).

Since 1964, Cassina has held the exclusive rights to reproduce the furniture designed by Le Corbusier.

For the Cassina I Maestri collection, it worked with the Le Corbusier Foundation to ensure an accurate rendering and manufacture of the architect’s original prototype designs.

This is the first time these pieces are being offered by Cassina in mass production.
