“Lumen” is a series of oil lamps resembling metal candleholders, which work like projectors, casting intriguing shadow patterns on the wall.
A clever and interesting twist on the traditional candle, they are the creation of artist Adam Frank.
As the candle flame burns and flickers, each “Lumen” reproduces its design as a shadow on the wall… Trees seem to sway their branches, and birds to flutter their wings…
The intensity of the shadow and the size of the projection depend on how bright the room already is: the darker it is, the better the results.
Each lamp comes with 2 containers of odorless liquid wax, each of which lasts at least 17 hours.
“Lumen” lamps are made in Brooklyn and are available in 5 styles: Cedar, Nest, Magnolia, Pine and Bloom.
They are sold on www.adamfrank.com for $48.00 (€36) each, excluding shipping.
