At the Motor Show 2011 in Geneva, Alfa Romeo presented a new concept car, the 4c. The Italian company, which regularly impresses us with its design approaches, has drawn many design and technology elements from its earlier models to create a beautiful new sports car.

The new two-seater coupe is powered by a 1750cc four-cylinder turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine, mounted in the middle of the rear of the body. This gives the car a thoroughly sporty weight distribution and, as a result, sporty handling.
The use of aluminium and carbon fibre in the construction of the 4c helps keep the car’s weight very low, at barely 850 kg!

The performance is equally impressive: the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 5 seconds, and its top speed exceeds 250 km/h.
As for fuel consumption, the company claims it will be on a par with that of typical four-cylinder engines of the same displacement. The 4c will be available in 2012.
